National Chaplain's Coordinator Daniel Sylverston has announced a Level I Community Service Chaplaincy Course which will be the Maiden Course of the newly organized Community Service Chaplaincy program in the Republic of Ireland. The dates are set for May 5 - 7, 2012 in the city of Dublin. Bishop Nick Park, Overseer of Ireland has expressed his desire for all pastors in Ireland to participate in this program and receive certification from the Church of God Chaplains Commission.
We, as a Chaplain's Commission are very excited about the prospects of chaplaincy in Ireland. We are especially excited about the possibility of 100% of the Pastos and many laity which will be involved in this great ministry "Outside the Gates" of the traditional church setting.

Community Service Chaplains
Community Service Chaplains or "CSC" are part of the Church of God Chaplains Commission. CSCs are certified Community Service Chaplains who are trained to enter into various disciplines of the local community, thus extending the greater ministry of the Kingdom of God and the local Church. While serving in a volunteer capacity, these men and women of faith are doing a professional task. CSCs regularly donate many hours of their week to insure that the needs of others are cared for, while sacrificing their own free time, talent and personal resources to accomplish the task of chaplaincy ministry.

What is Community Service Chaplaincy? |
|
|
|
|
Community Service Chaplaincy (CSC) officially began in 1994 although Chaplains were doing this ministry for some years before. CSC is taught and practiced from a Christ bases platform. We are confident that the direction which our Lord gave to the church is the best design for ministering to a hurting world in need. Chaplaincy is a ministry that most often functions best outside the walls of the traditional church. The concept of chaplaincy ministry goes further back in history than most would imagine. Chaplaincy in the Bible is that ministry or service in God’s name to others that took place outside of the space officially designated and sanctified for religious purposes by Moses and Jewish priestly leadership. As such, chaplaincy, or ministry of the market place, can be traced back to the very earliest years of the Nation of Israel.
The priority of our Community Service Chaplaincy would be anticipated response and need for pastoral care, spiritual and emotional guidance in times of personal crisis or conflict. The Community Service Chaplains respond to businesses, employers and employees of various agencies of and within our communities.
The Community of Chaplain Service is committed to providing spiritual and emotional guidance and gives the atmosphere of peace, trust and confidentiality. We are a volunteer arm of the Church of God Chaplains Commission trained in the areas of counsel, grief, disaster response, pastoral care and other possible related areas. Community Service Chaplaincy extends around the world into a number of countries including Europe, Canada, USA, South America, South Africa, United Kingdom, Philippine Islands and many other countries. Church of God Community Service Chaplaincy is multi cultural and multi lingual thus allowing a very broad spectrum of ministry opportunities and outreaches.
GROWING
The fastest growing demographic within Church of God Chaplaincy is the Hispanic Community of our Church.
We presently serve approximately 3500 Chaplains Trained in the USA and additional 2100 trained outside the USA. |
